In my opinion, this is a very disappointing movie with “not-funny” jokes and an “old-fashion” style. The plot is unclear and you feel lost after the first hour, but the film is so bad that you don’t mind being disoriented hoping that it gets better at the end. (let me tell you, this doesn’t happen).
I liked Samuel L. Jackson acting. I am not his biggest fan, but I think his performance in this movie was alright. Despite his talent, I don’t agree on how his role was derogatory to women. For example, to catch criminals, women were shown just as a distraction with big boobs. Another example was the way they showed his wife, as a hysterical woman that couldn’t understand her husband’s job. His daughter in law was a weak character waiting for the “man of her dreams” to protect her. A load of rubbish if you ask me!.
A moderately interesting thing shown by the film is how parents give up being themselves when they have children. Being a parent is not easy, but giving up what you want and what you have worked for all your life makes it worse. As children, we should be aware of all those sacrifices and thank them for their patience and dedication to those who have taken care of us (call them parents, adopted parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts, etc.).
