This movie is based on a true story of the American journalist Jeannette Walls. It is a marvellous film with great actors – Naomi Watts and Woody Harrelson. It involves the viewer in every tear and frustration of the protagonist, revealing the substantial influence that parents have in their children lives.

I wonder how many talented children are living in the streets worldwide? Kids with the potential of being powerful leaders able to positively influence our future are wasted on the cold and cruel streets. What about their parents, what were they thinking?. Women have a huge responsibility and should be able to decide how many kids to have. I believe that having a kid is a life-changing decision and the way a child is brought up depends on their mother’s values as she decides who her partner is and who is the father of her kids.

How profound is the damage in a society where kids are violated, neglected and forced to act like adults? A society where children grow with anger and desire for revenge? Kids are the future; how do we want our future to be?

Finally, an essential aspect of this movie is the importance of being ourselves to be really happy. The importance of knowing and embracing our origins as a way to potentialize our hidden talents.

It is an excellent movie!
